But next week, Lily will be bringing something a little different to school.
Her very own iPod Touch.
We're really hoping that she can learn to use it as a communication device.
There are literally thousands of pictures that can be grouped into categories such as foods, toys, and clothes, just to name a few. Lily can use those pictures to let us know exactly what she wants. The device will even speak the picture she selects.

Say we are sitting down to eat supper and we're eating roast, rice, and peas.
Lily may want to eat all of her peas before she eats her rice. Or she might need a drink before she takes another bite. Or she may not be hungry at all.
She can use the iPod to tell us any of those things and more.
The possibilities for communication are endless and we're so excited to give it a try!
Of course, Lily may use it to tell us that she really hates roast, rice, and peas and would rather have popcorn for supper.
And you know what?
I'll let her have it!
