A Little Something for Your Easter Basket

Have you discovered the wonderful devotional book "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young?

My sister-in-law, Amy, gave one to me last Christmas and I just love it.  The daily messages are so timely and seem to be perfectly in tune with what's going on in my life.

Funny how Scripture works that way, huh?

While there are many devotional books out there, what makes this one so unique is that it is written as if Jesus is speaking directly to the reader.

Click here to read an interview with Sarah Young explaining how she came to write "Jesus Calling".

If you don't own the book, I highly recommend it.

But you want to know something very cool?

There is actually a Jesus Calling app!

For $7.99, you can get the book on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.  Then you'll always have it with you.  You can view the daily devotion, search for other days, and see the corresponding Scripture.

There is also an audio version for $4.99.  After reading the customer reviews, there seemed to be a common complaint in that the daily devotion is read in a woman's voice.  Most people wanted the voice of a man since it is supposed to be Jesus speaking to them.

I tend to read the daily devotions in this book out loud so I'm not sure that a woman's voice would really bother me that much.  After all, even if it was a man's voice on the app, it's still not actually the voice of Jesus!

And if this isn't enough to get you excited, there is also a Jesus Calling book for kids!

Is no one but me noticing the bird on the cover?  We really notice birds around this house, thanks to Little Miss Lily Bird.

So everyone in the family can get on board and take part in what I think will be one of the most incredible devotional books you've ever read.

And no, in case you are wondering, this is not a paid endorsement... just some good stuff to remind you of how very much God loves you!
