Lily has always LOVED playing with water in any way, shape, or form. I'm pretty sure not many words are needed for you to grasp the fun you're about to see.
"Hey Mom - check me out scooping up these colored ice cubes!"
"Hey - these ice cubes are pretty yummy."
"I can use that cool red cup, too?"
"Sink water is so tasty!"
"Good to the last drop."
"Forget the cup. I'm going straight to the source!"
"I'm a pretty silly kid, aren't I?"
"OK. That's it. No more fooling around. Off with the shirt. I'm going in!"
"Now what exactly is this?"
"I hereby proclaim every day is water day!"
Who says this kid doesn't know how to play?!?!?!? I am thinking she played and had a fantastic time doing it !!
ReplyDeleteYou know, some girls play with dolls, some with trucks, and some with water.
My face hurts from the big goofy smile this gave me.
I hereby proclaim Birdie Boot Camp - Water Play - a huge success!!!
I think she would still be standing at my sink today if we'd just left her alone.... Or else she might be IN the sink. We'll definitely be doing water play again. And bonus - my kitchen floor got a real good cleaning, too! Gotta love multi-tasking! :)
Deleteshe really does look like she had fun. . .
ReplyDeleteOh, she did. No doubt about it.
Deleteahem. I have replied to your comment in my blog, madam.
DeleteHa! That's hilarious! Love it.
ReplyDeleteShe's a funny kid.
DeleteGoodness! She needs to teach Tootles a thing or two about getting the hair wet - he would NEVER do that!! She is an adventurer (and hooray for the multitasking!)
ReplyDeleteLily has never had a problem taking a bath or shower, getting her hair wet, nothing. We used to have a pool and she would stand under the "waterfall" and let it just soak her head to toe. And that's why we had to move to a house with no pool - absolutely no fear of the water.
DeleteOk, that's it! When can Lily teach my kid how to play in the water?! She makes it look so fun, even I want to do it now! I'm sure she could convince Parker! :)
ReplyDeleteShe would be more than happy to show Parker how it's done! :)
DeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteIt's times like these that I wish I was a better photographer like you - but my iPhone camera sure gets a workout!
DeleteI love it! I wish all boot camps looked that fun! :)
ReplyDeleteMy exercise boot camp was not near this fun. In fact, fun is not how I would describe it at all.
DeleteOh yeah, K is obsessed with water, too. I often find sink floods in our upstairs bathrooms. It has always been very calming to her, and swim lessons are the one thing I can count on to be meltdown free.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't done swimming lessons yet but I'm thinking this may be the summer we start. She is convinced she can actually swim already anyway so we may as well try to do it right!
DeleteHa ha! Water brings out the best in my kiddo too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a simple thing creates such joy! Nice.
