A Little Housekeeping

Just a few things before the weekend arrives and I totally check out:

I can't believe I forgot to tell you but I did a guest post over at 5 Minutes for Special Needs on Monday.  Click here to read it.  For those of you faithful followers, you'll probably recognize the post.  But if you missed it, it's worth a read and a good way to get to know the Bird and I just a bit more.

Lately, I've not been great at responding to your comments that you are so nice to leave for me.  I've backtracked and replied to each and every one of you so go look and see!  And please keep leaving comments because I love to hear from you!

Think about giving the "Lily Pad" a try this weekend.  I'm telling you, it's the first thing in a loooooong time that kept the Bird so happy and engaged that I could actually sit on the porch swing and relax! We'll be breaking it out this weekend, I assure you.  If you do give it a try, send me a picture, ok?

Have a great weekend, folks!

  1. I kept clicking on that link and looking by author and getting confused. You know your post says "by Emily"!! They have your picture at the end (and yes I recognized it - it was a beautiful post!) but just so you know...

Still raining and 48 degrees here in "sunny" California... It'll be a while before I try that "Lily pad" out here! Have a lovely weekend!

    1. I'm a little confused about the "by Emily" part, too. I'm thinking it's maybe because Emily posted it on my behalf? Oh well... it was nice to have the chance to write for them!

And wow - you're sunny California doesn't know it's spring yet! I don't think T will like the "Lily Pad" that much if he has to wear a coat! :)

  2. Thanks for letting us know about your guest post. I haven't been blogging for very long, and have been looking for other blogs on children with special needs, in particular cerebral palsy. This will be a great resource for me for encouragement, hope and support.

I think that your blog is amazing, and although I'm not going through the same challenges as you, I can really relate to how you feel with regard to the feelings you have about being sad and mad at the diagnosis and what it has done to your special baby but still loving unconditionally and appreciating her all the more because she has survived dispite the adversity.

    Much love - Tui

    1. Tui - How nice to meet you! And I'm glad you found 5 Minutes for Special Needs. It's a great resource. And you're right - while we don't all have the same diagnosis, we can certainly understand the feelings involved in having special kiddos. I look forward to catching up with you!
