A Few Things for the Ladies

Most of the time, when I write about things I've come across online, it has to do with stuff for the kiddos.

Since we're approaching the weekend, I thought it would be nice to let you in on a few things I've discovered that might be fun for you ladies.

First, Life Beautiful magazine.  I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for those "pretty" magazines, like Southern Living, Country Living, and House Beautiful.  I love looking at all the pictures and reading the delicious recipes, knowing full well that my house will never be magazine worthy and I'll probably be making Sloppy Joes for supper until I die.

Life Beautiful is just like those "pretty" magazines but it's written from a Christian perspective.  In fact, the subtitle says, "Faith for your Journey".  So sprinkled throughout the lovely pages, you'll find inspirational articles, verses of Scripture, and uplifting stories.

I think you'll like it!

Second, for those of you that use paper planners, do you know about Mom Agenda calendars?  These are my all time favorites because there is space for every family member - unless you have 8 kids or something.  I like the spiral version best - and I don't put it in a cover.  These run on a school calendar year so now's the perfect time to buy one.

Next, a time-saver trick that I'm hoping really does work - The Busy Mom Hair Trick That Changed My Life definitely caught my attention when I saw it on the Twitter.

Confession:  I don't have wash and wear hair.  So I have been known to blow dry and hot roll to get that nice, loose wavy look.  You know, the one that looks like I didn't spend much time on my hair when I really did?  So any tip that promises quick, easy, pretty hair that takes place while I'm sleeping is something I have to try.  I'm hoping to give it a go this weekend.

Now, for those mamas with special needs children, don't you get tired of having to explain your child's diagnosis over and over again?  Don't you wish sometimes that you could just hand off a sheet of information about your child and his diagnosis?  Well, now you can.  Check out Handy Handouts for tons of printable sheets that are free for parents, teachers, and therapists.

And since we're approaching a long Labor Day weekend, how about some fun activities to do with your children?

If your child has sensory issues, look no further than this website for more activities than you could do in a lifetime!  These activities are great fun for typical kids, too.

If you live in Austin or the surrounding area, click here for a list of some fun and free things to do as a family this weekend.

Have a great Friday and a super Labor Day!

  1. I LOVE MomAgenda. I've been using them for years and will never go back :) That hair trick is so neat! Where did you find rubber headbands like she used?

  3. Leslie - Since I have 2 teens, I already have some stretchy headbands around here but I think you can get them at Target or Wal-Mart. I'm sure that's where we got ours. I'm trying it tonight!

Mom2LittleMiss - I haven't done Pinterest yet because I know I'll become addicted! But I think you've talked me into it - I'm an easy sell! :) I'm going to check yours out today. I'm sure I'll be sharing mine soon!
