Applesauce and icecream are our big ones for the crushed pills, but we have been known to resort to some crazy stuff when the going gets tough. Like ketchup, salsa, and other things that he loves but normally can only use as a "dip." :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2864394486854097024.post-30266062564734262632012-03-27T12:48:26.609-05:002012-03-27T12:48:26.609-05:00Most of T's meds come in liquid form and we us...Most of T's meds come in liquid form and we use the syringe method. He likes to pretend I am firing a missile (like Finn McMissile in Cars 2) and if I say "Ka-chow!" after, he's fine with it. His seizure med is a capsule so I have to put it in food. We use either Mickey Mouse (strawberry banana) yogurt, applesauce, ice cream or cake. We call it sprinkles. He will eat dirt if you put it on cheesecake! Lucky for me, cuz he takes 5 meds a day. Like Karla, my life would be super hard if he did not take them willingly!

Maybe you could bake it in a special cookie for her? Anything she loves would be my suggestion. But sounds like you have quite a variety going on!Karen V.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02432239210579792788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2864394486854097024.post-24451533402473817622012-03-27T12:37:39.132-05:002012-03-27T12:37:39.132-05:00We were told to use rainbow sherbert--the flavor t...We were told to use rainbow sherbert--the flavor tends to be quite strong and of course sugary!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2864394486854097024.post-89064431212228296762012-03-27T11:00:42.955-05:002012-03-27T11:00:42.955-05:00We've never been particularly successful at ma...We've never been particularly successful at masking supplements in other food. For starters, there's never any guarantee that Lily will eat the whole thing (whatever it might be) so then the dosage is all out of whack.

I can tell you THIS however. When I was a kid my mother served me bufferin for headaches in jelly. She'd crush the pills and mix them with jelly and I loved them. I actually LIKED taking medicine. But I'm not on the spectrum. . .Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11538573774184028004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2864394486854097024.post-54378677172881295502012-03-27T08:19:15.044-05:002012-03-27T08:19:15.044-05:00We are extremely lucky in that Little Miss takes h...We are extremely lucky in that Little Miss takes her meds like a champ. She's currently on 6 tablets 2x per day and it would be an amazing drag if we had to hide all that.

Our only problem with the meds is remembering to parcel them out a few at a time... Otherwise she tries to cram them all in her mouth at once!KCFitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04907513801465812861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2864394486854097024.post-48326837191053069702012-03-27T07:55:25.798-05:002012-03-27T07:55:25.798-05:00I just officially pinned the recipe. Somehow he knows something is off about it. We end up crushing pills and mixing them with juice then holding him down and syringing them into his mouth. For SH, we tell her everything is some sort of vitamins- growing vitamins, sparkly hair vitamins, will make your feet smell good vitamins...Fieldshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14975476359462219455noreply@blogger.com
